Disney Characters & Kiddie Rides

Waiting for lift off!

My boys

Olivia is in heaven...

Meeting the big man

He really is goofy.

Monday was a day of Disney characters.  It’s all the girls cared about.  They were both so upset when Toon Town wasn’t open right when we got into Disneyland.  I think today will be a day of princesses.  We are just loving staying at the Hotel California!  It is so awesome to be able to walk right out of the hotel into a theme park or into Downtown Disney.  I don’t think we’ll be able to come to Disneyland again without staying here.

One cool Julia bit of news…Joey taught her how to swallow her enzymes whole, so no more applesauce!  She is such a big girl.  She swallows the big Creon 12’s like a pro.  I am so excited about this because I won’t have to take applesauce and a spoon with me everywhere I go.

We will be meeting up with Austin’s best friend and his family here today!  So much fun!

Look Mom, Pickles

So, here is a picture of pseudomonas aeruginosa.  At the CF clinic, on the door of all of the rooms, there is a poster that shows the lungs and how pseudomonas effects them.  It also shows a picture similar to this one on the poster.  Today, Julia said, “Look Mom, pickles!”  I thought it was funny that Julia thinks the bacteria growing in her lungs looks like pickles.  Those are some scary looking pickles!

A Day of Re-takes

Goddie bags at PCMC

Julia waits for her chest x-ray

Olivia is so happy to get a goodie bag!

Dress-up time

Olivia is always willing to pose for a picture!

Today was a day of re-takes at Primary Children’s.  Julia got another throat swab to see if she cultures pseudomonas again.  They like to re-test her two weeks after finishing a round of TOBI to see if it grows back or not.  If it comes back negative this time, we’ll surely get a break from TOBI for a while.  If she comes back positive, we’ll have another round of TOBI and possibly some other oral antibiotic.  We also had a re-take of her chest x-ray.  This time she was crying, so hopefully they were able to see and time her inhale a bit better and get a picture when she had her lungs full.  Julia cried after her throat swab and cried during and after her chest x-ray.  She kept saying, “I hate it!  I hate it!”

It wasn’t all bad.  The girls got some awesome prize bags from the wonderful ladies at the CF clinic.  Sometimes they get spoiled on our visits and this time we lucked out.  The girls just loved the fun items they found in their bags!

I am going to be a crazy woman tomorrow, getting the final packing done for our big trip.  We look forward to five days at Disneyland…the kids can’t wait!

Bathing Suit Thursday

Crazy Kids!

Shopping Fun!

Bath time fun...and for those who didn't believe me when I said our bathroom is beautifully decorated in pink and blue...nice!

So, we  plan on doing some swimming on our vacation.  My mistake was mentioning it as I was looking for a hotel with an indoor pool.  Of course the girls had to go and find their swimming suits and wear them.  That’s fine right?  Well, I didn’t plan on Julia taking off her winter coat at Smith’s today and refusing to wear it.  She usually loves her purple coat so much that I can’t get the thing off of her.  Well, I can’t tell you all of the stares and smiles, not to mention the comments I got about her sporting her bathing suit in the grocery store in the dead of winter.  As you may know, Salt Lake City is very cold in the winter and we had another snow storm today.  I was so embarrassed, but couldn’t help but have a good laugh about it.  Ahhh, parenting is such an adventure!

Monday Morning…Back to School
